What Do Ants Eat?
Four Food Groups
Of the pests that try to invade your home, ants aren’t the pickiest of eaters. Ants eat four food groups: carbohydrates, sweets, proteins, and fats and oils. Your kitchen is filled with plenty of food for them to choose from.
What Ants Eat
Ants prefer a diet of carbohydrates, so they are most likely to munch on these snacks if there is an abundance for them to find. Some of the foods in your cabinet that will attract ants are:

The Easy Solution for Ants in Your Kitchen
If you have ants consistently coming into your kitchen, you have two options for kicking them out: eliminate their entrance or place a bait trap. To determine where they are coming from, follow the line of ants. You might need to seal your door tighter or take out the caulk to plug holes. If you are going to use a bait trap, go to the store and find one that will poison the colony. A worker ant goes into it thinking they have found a great food source, and they take back the “food” to share with their colony. This then poisons and kills the entire colony, eliminating your ant problem.
